Psalm 111 – New International Version (NIV)

Psalm 111[a]

  1. Praise the Lord.[b] I will extol the Lord with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly.
  2. Great are the works of the Lord; they are pondered by all who delight in them.
  3. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever.
  4. He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the Lord is gracious and compassionate.
  5. He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever.
  6. He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations.
  7. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy.
  8. They are established for ever and ever, enacted in faithfulness and uprightness.
  9. He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever— holy and awesome is his name.
  10. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.

  1. Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart,

ב Bet

In the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.

ג Gimel

  1. The works of the LORD are great,

ד Dalet

Sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.

  1. His work is honourable and glorious:

And his righteousness endureth for ever.

ז Zain

  1. He hath made his wonderful works to be remembered:

The LORD is gracious and full of compassion.

ט Tet

  1. He hath given meat unto them that fear him:

He will ever be mindful of his covenant.

  1. He hath shewed his people the power of his works,

ל Lamed

That he may give them the heritage of the heathen.

  1. The works of his hands are verity and judgment;

All his commandments are sure.

  1. They stand fast for ever and ever,

And are done in truth and uprightness.

  1. He sent redemption unto his people:

He hath commanded his covenant for ever:

Holy and reverend is his name.

  1. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom:

A good understanding have all they that do his commandments:

His praise endureth for ever.
