Psalm 84 – New International Version (NIV)
Psalm 84[a]
For the director of music. According to gittith.[b] Of the Sons of Korah. A psalm.
- How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty!
- My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God.
- Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young—a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King and my God.
- Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you.[c]
- Blessed are those whose strength is in you, whose hearts are set on pilgrimage.
- As they pass through the Valley of Baka, they make it a place of springs; the autumn rains also cover it with pools.[d]
- They go from strength to strength, till each appears before God in Zion.
- Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty; listen to me, God of Jacob.
- Look on our shield,[e] O God; look with favor on your anointed one.
- Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
- For the Lord God is a sun and shield; the Lord bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless.
- Lord Almighty, blessed is the one who trusts in you.

To the chief Musician upon Gittith, A Psalm for the sons of Korah.
- How amiable are thy tabernacles, O LORD of hosts!
- My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the LORD: My heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God.
- Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, Even thine altars, O LORD of hosts, my King, and my God.
- Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: They will be still praising thee. Selah.
- Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; In whose heart are the ways of them.
- Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; The rain also filleth the pools.
- They go from strength to strength, Every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
- O LORD God of hosts, hear my prayer: Give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah.
- Behold, O God our shield, And look upon the face of thine anointed.
- For a day in thy courts Is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.

- O LORD of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
